Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, Funmilayo Akande-Mohammed, yesterday said residents would re-elect Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and vote Musibau Lawal as House of Assembly member on Saturday.

Speaking at a campaign for Sanwo-Olu and Lawal, she said: “… we are going to work for them because Sanwo-Olu deserves it and he has done a lot in Lagos.

Vice Chairman, Bamidele Olawale, said what Sanwo-Olu has done should be enough to earn him a second term in office.

“Apapa-Iganmu has always been supportive, trustworthy and reliable from Alliance of Democracy (AD), Action Congress (AC), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and now APC. We always deliver for the ruling party,” he said.

Bamidele affirmed residents’ resolution to vote APC on Saturday.

Leader of the council’s legislative arm, Kamoru Ojora said Governor Sanwo-Olu should be re-elected due to his performance.

“Sanwo-Olu has done well so far. You can see his achievement across the state. I believe somebody that has done well should be given an opportunity for a second one term,” he said.

Also speaking, Hakeem Akanbi, urged Lagosians to vote en masse for the governor.

“We don’t have any choice because Governor Sanwo-Olu is a man of integrity, a man that says things and stands by it and he has been a performer. We can see what he has been doing throughout the state. He has performed well,” Akanbi said.

An advocate, Mrs. Oluyemisi Adesina, has restated the need to re-elect Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday.

She said Sanwo-Olu has worked to deserve re-election ‘as his achievements are geared towards future development to make Lagos more solid.

Adesina, in a statement, noted that women are part of the executive council, and  head MDAs, ‘because Sanwo-Olu takes interest in development and contribution of women’.

“We appreciate the Blue Rail Line. The Red Line Rail is about to be completed; these will solve transport issues.

“We are proud of the Rice Mill in Imota, which will provide jobs for millions of people. Kudos should also be given to the governor for Lekki Deep Seaport and other projects.

“I plead with residents to vote Sanwo-Olu and Obafemi Hamzat. Let us forget our differences and work for his victory on Saturday.

“I also appeal to our Igbo brothers and sisters to support Sanwo-Olu. Our actors, we know most of us got our fame in this state, our youths should come out to vote Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat, as well as Assembly members,” she said.
