Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has approved an upward review of existing loans for all categories of workers under the Delta State Public Officers’ Housing Loan Scheme (POHLS).

Reginald Bayoko, Head of Service (HoS), announced the approval via a circular titled HOS 14/2/1/Vol.1/T2/5 and dated August 4, 2022, which he issued and signed over the weekend in Asaba.

He stated that the governor’s generosity was intended to alleviate the suffering of workers seeking shelter in the state.

While praising Okowa for the decision, the HoS said the approval demonstrated the governor’s commitment to supporting the welfare and housing needs of public workers.

Details of the new rates as contained in the memo indicate that officers on salary Grade Levels (GLs) 01 to 06 are now eligible for a housing loan of N3 million from N1.5 million, GLs 07 to12 are entitled to access the N4 million against the old rate of N2 million, while those on GL 13 and above are due for N5 million as against previous N2.5 million facility.
