The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) will collaborate with the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN) to build capacity on issues of cost control and other areas of great challenge.

The Executive Secretary of PTDF, Dr. Bello Aliyu Gusau, who hinted this at a seminar on “Effective Cost Management in the Oil and Gas Sector” in Abuja, said in the fund’s industry skill and competency gap analysis, issues of cost engineering control and estimation were among areas of great challenge in the oil sector.

Dr. Gusau said, “It is against this background that the fund is collaborating with QSBRN in organising this workshop towards placing these very important issues in the front burner.”

He assured that PTDF was willing to partner and collaborate with the industry in finding solutions to critical issues affecting full realisation of government’s vision for the oil and gas sector.

Gusau further said, “We will be prepared to work with professional bodies and the academia towards developing home-grown solutions to support the industry’s effort to stay competitive through effective cost management.” The President of QSRBN, Murtala Aliyu, said every sector needed cost effectiveness to ensure value and growth.
