Oyo State Government is to review the allocation of Government Reserved Areas (GRAs) land at Akitipiti in Oyo and Oke Anu in Ogbomoso.

This, the Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, said is in fulfilment of the government’s promise to decongest Ibadan, during his tour to Oyo and Ogbomoso GRAs.

He said that the land at Oyo and Ogbomosho had been allocated for over 10 years without any development carried out on them.

Abdu-Raheem said that the land, which could serve as sources of revenue for the government, was being left to waste away.

He further said that the allocations would be reviewed and revoked where necessary, calling on the Oyo and Ogbomoso GRA land owners to be ready to develop their plots of land or have them revoked.

Abdu-Raheem added that the Governor Seyi Makinde administration wanted to decongest Ibadan “and to achieve this, plots of land in neighbouring towns need to be developed.”
