As measures to improve the welfare of civil servants and teachers in Ekiti State, the Head of Service, Sunday Komolafe, on Monday announced that the state government had released a total of N352.3 million as car and housing loans in 2023. A significant number of beneficiaries, comprising 3,021 civil servants and teachers, accessed these loans.

During a press conference in Ado Ekiti as part of the ongoing 2023 Civil Service Week, Komolafe commended the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji for prioritizing the well-being of the state’s civil servants. He emphasized the critical role of the civil service in executing government policies, stating that the success of any administration is often measured by the quality of its civil service.

Komolafe encouraged civil servants to demonstrate heightened commitment to their responsibilities, aligning with the shared prosperity agenda of the present administration in Ekiti State. He highlighted the deliberate efforts made by Governor Oyebanji to strengthen the civil service, including the transparent and merit-based appointment of 15 new permanent secretaries, a statistician-general, the secretary of the Audit Service Commission, and the auditor-general of the Local Government.

The Head of Service praised the administration’s commitment to building a modern civil service by leveraging information and communication technology (ICT). He disclosed that the government is working on gradually digitizing government operations to enhance probity and improve service delivery.
