The Organiser of the Africa’s largest housing and construction expo, The Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), Barr. Festus Adebayo has revealed that one of the innovations to debut in this year’s edition will be the gathering of CEOs, professionals under the age of 40, known as the “Under 40s” in a session that would provide an opportunity for interaction.
Adebayo also disclosed that this innovation is aimed at raising the next generation of real estate developers and other professions in the built sector.
The real estate stalwart, known as a “lynchpin” in the Nigerian housing industry states this while interacting with newsmen in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.
“One of the things we have added to this year’s show is the planned gathering of U-40 professionals’ meet-up that will be launched across board, he said.
“If you are an Engineer, Architect, Real Estate Developer, whatever be your profession and you are under the age of 40, we are going to have a session for you, a meeting for you, a time to interact with, characterised with entertainment.
“The aim of that program is to begin the race of the new generation of real estate developers, a generation of new architects, a generation of new surveyors and so on”, Adebayo stated.
He further noted that the 2023 edition of the AIHS aims to be unique as it would be the first organised under the new administration of the country’s new President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu. “(It) inadvertently means that majority of the faces expected to be seen at the event would be new faces, new political and government appointees, new senators, new house of representatives members, new state house of assembly members, new commissioners for housing, new heads of housing agencies. All these make this year’s event unique, Adebayo, an ex banker said.
“We (will) engage them on the importance of housing and the development of affordable housing. It means we would engage them, tutor them on how to achieve their political manifesto in the area of housing”.
“We also have the CEOs forum, scheduled for Day One where all the leading CEOs meet and interact”.
Adebayo also enumerated that the show is expected to include side events and cocktail on each day of the event, with Waje expected to be on show on the last day as the guest artist.
