President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the occasion of his 85th birthday, describing the monarch as a pillar of peace and national unity.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised the Emir for a lifetime of service to the nation, both in the judiciary and in traditional leadership.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu felicitates the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on his 85th birthday on April 22,” the statement read.

The president highlighted the Emir’s distinguished legal career, noting that he served as a judge of the High Court in Borno State in 1977 before rising to the Court of Appeal in 1983. He was also the pioneer Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice in the former Gongola State.

President Tinubu lauded the monarch’s steadfast commitment to peace, unity, and development, especially in his capacity as Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The Emir’s role in advancing education was also recognized, having served as Chancellor of both Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.

Tinubu extended his best wishes to the royal family, the Ilorin Emirate, and the people of Kwara State, praying for the Emir’s continued health and impactful reign.

“He prays that God Almighty will grant the Emir renewed strength and good health to enjoy many more peaceful and impactful years on the throne,” the president concluded.
