One person has been confirmed dead and three others injured after a building collapsed in the Fadeyi area of Lagos State on Friday morning.

The incident occurred on Akinola Street, off Ikorodu Road, on October 23, 2026.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident, saying emergency responders had begun search-and-rescue operations at the scene.

According to the agency, the cause of the collapse had yet to be determined, while responders were working to establish how many people remained trapped beneath the debris.

LASEMA said emergency teams were conducting coordinated searches to locate and rescue any trapped victims.

The agency added that it was managing the scene in collaboration with relevant emergency and security stakeholders to ensure an effective operation.

Those involved in the response included LRU paramedics, the Lagos State Fire Service, LASASA and the Nigeria Police Force’s Alabama Division, according to the agency’s statement.

The rescue operation was ongoing as emergency responders continued efforts to determine the full extent of the incident.

Further details, including the cause of the collapse and the number of people who may still be trapped, were not immediately available.
