Morocco has launched a mobile housing and urban planning initiative aimed at making it easier for Moroccans living abroad to access property, investment and housing services when they return to the country.

The Urban Planning and Housing Caravan, launched in Tangier by the Ministry of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy, is designed to bring government services directly to members of the Moroccan diaspora.

Caravan Targets Diaspora Housing and Investment Needs

The initiative forms part of the ministry’s national campaign, “Urban Planning and Housing at the Service of Moroccans Around the World,” launched under the direction of Minister Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri.

The campaign is intended to improve access to government services for Moroccans living abroad while responding to their housing, urban planning and investment needs.

The ministry said the initiative reflects the government’s broader effort to bring public administration closer to citizens and improve the quality of services available to the Moroccan diaspora.

Mobile Agency to Tour Major Moroccan Cities

The caravan will travel through several cities across Morocco, including Oujda, Meknes, Errachidia, Beni Mellal, Marrakech, Agadir, Laayoune, Casablanca and Rabat.

Designed as a fully equipped mobile agency, it will provide reception, information, guidance and support to visitors, particularly Moroccans living abroad who are seeking to buy property, invest or access housing programmes.

Representatives from the ministry, urban agencies and Al Omrane Group will be available to provide direct assistance.

Diaspora to Get Property and Housing Information

Visitors will receive information on available real estate projects, investment opportunities and public housing schemes.

The caravan will also provide guidance on Daam Sakane, Morocco’s direct housing assistance programme, giving eligible applicants greater access to information on available support.

The initiative is expected to make it easier for Moroccans abroad to navigate housing and investment procedures without having to deal with multiple government institutions separately.

Morocco Expands Services Beyond the Caravan

The mobile caravan is part of a wider proximity strategy targeting Moroccans living abroad.

The ministry has established reception and support points at major ports, airports and High-Speed Train stations, while urban agencies and Al Omrane Group companies are organising open days for members of the diaspora.

An on-call service has also been introduced to provide assistance outside normal administrative working hours.

The ministry said its various institutions have further expanded information and guidance services to help Moroccans abroad access urban planning, housing and investment-related procedures.

The initiative positions the diaspora as an important stakeholder in Morocco’s housing and real estate market while seeking to make government services more accessible to citizens living both inside and outside the country.
