Many parts of Lagos are witnessing unrest as irate youths on Friday took to the streets to protest against the New Naira policy of the Federal Government.

Areas such as Mile 12, Ikorodu, Ojota, Agege have witnessed burning of tyres and other objects as they blocked major roads prevent vehicular movements. At the Oke-koto area of Agege, youths were seen blocking the major dual carriage way while burning some tyres.

Police Report In Regards To The Protests

Confirming the protests Friday morning, Benjamin Hundeyin, Police Command spokesman in Lagos said via his twitter page that it was true that some unrests had taken place at the Mile 12 area early morning of Friday. He however said normalcy had returned. “It is true. Our men are there. Reinforcement units have been deployed.

“Stay safe out there as we closely monitor and manage the situation.”
