The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has granted a three-month grace period to owners of 189 undeveloped plots of land in the FCT to commence development or risk revocation of their land titles.
The Minister’s decision was announced by the Director of Information and Communication at the FCT Administration, Mr. Muhammad Sule, on Sunday in Abuja.

Sule explained that the grace period applies to individuals and corporate organizations holding land titles within the FCT who have previously obtained building plan approvals but have not yet developed their properties.
He said the Minister granted the extension as a gesture toward those who have displayed a genuine intention to develop their properties by securing necessary documents from the FCT Administration.
“The minister is urging the affected property owners to take advantage of this gesture and develop their plots in line with the terms of their offer of Right-of-Occupancy,” Sule said.
The FCT Administration has also appealed to public institutions with allocated land plots within the FCT to commence development within the same three-month grace period to avoid potential revocation of their title documents.

Sule warned that the FCT Administration will not hesitate to revoke the title documents of any property owner who fails to develop their plot within the stipulated three-month period.
The Minister’s decision is aimed at ensuring that all undeveloped plots of land in the FCT are put to productive use, in line with the Abuja Master Plan.
