The Abuja Energy Distribution Company (AEDC) has improved its electricity generation, but according to HRH Alhaji Hussaini Agabi Mam, the Agabe of Ugbada-Gwargwada chiefdom in Kuje Area Council of the FCT, his people have been without electricity for more than three years.

Mam, who spoke exclusively with our reporter over the weekend in his palace, said he had not been able to ascertain the cause of the blackout or get any clear explanation from the management of AEDC. He said he had met with the Abaji branch management of the AEDC severally over electricity supply to the Gwargwada-Rubochi axis, but there has been no positive result from them.

Reacting, the Abaji branch manager of the AEDC, Joseph D Erena, said document handed over to him two years ago, showed that non-compliance by people of the affected areas in paying their light bills was the cause of the blackout.

The Agabe of Ugbada-Gwargwada chiefdom in Kuje Area Council of the FCT, HRH Alhaji Hussaini Agabi Mam, has said despite improvement in electricity generation by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), his people have been in darkness for over three years.
