Dangote Cement Plc will hold a Capital Markets Day in London on September 21, 2026, as it advances plans for a secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange.
The event will enable the company’s senior management to engage international investors and provide updates on its operations, corporate strategy and business priorities.
Company Secretary Edward Imoedemhe disclosed the plans in a regulatory statement issued on September 2, 2026.
The announcement followed the company’s earlier notification on May 12 and the subsequent approval granted by shareholders for the proposed London listing.
Dangote Cement said the agenda, logistical arrangements and other details relating to the Capital Markets Day would be released in due course.
Presentation materials from the engagement will also be made available to the market in accordance with applicable disclosure requirements.
The London meeting is expected to offer prospective investors greater insight into the cement producer’s financial performance, expansion plans and position within Africa’s construction-materials market.
Dangote Cement is currently listed on the Nigerian Exchange. A secondary listing in London would allow its shares to trade on both the Nigerian and British markets.
The proposed arrangement could broaden the company’s shareholder base, improve its access to international capital and strengthen its profile as a pan-African cement producer.
Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote had earlier disclosed that the company was considering selling approximately 10 per cent of its shares to external investors under the proposed listing.
Dangote Cement previously considered entering the London market in 2018, but the plan did not proceed.
Recent changes to the United Kingdom’s listing framework have reportedly made the London market more attractive to the company.
The proposed listing remains subject to necessary corporate and regulatory approvals, final terms and prevailing market conditions.
Dangote Cement’s renewed pursuit of international investors comes amid improved financial results.
The company recorded a pre-tax profit of ₦981.39 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026, representing a 34.43 per cent increase from ₦730.03 billion in the corresponding period of 2025.
Profit after tax rose by 22.69 per cent to ₦638.53 billion, while earnings per share increased from ₦30.74 to ₦38.22.
A successful London listing could provide additional capital to support the company’s expansion and production strategy across Africa.
Dangote Cement operates in several African countries and remains one of the continent’s most prominent manufacturers of cement, a critical input for housing, infrastructure and commercial construction.
The development could also attract greater international attention to Africa’s building-materials industry and create opportunities for institutional investors seeking exposure to the continent’s urbanisation and infrastructure growth.
However, access to additional capital will not automatically translate into cheaper cement for consumers. Housing stakeholders will continue to monitor how any future expansion affects production capacity, market competition and cement prices across Nigeria and other African markets.
