The Nigeria Institute of Architects, NIA at its Biennial General Meeting (BGM) in Abuja had over the weekend unanimously elected Arc. (Chief) Gabriel Yakubu Aduku as its Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) to serve for a period of five years.

Chief Aduku who is also a past President of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) was at the even honoured with another investiture; Certificate of Distinguished Service by the immediate past national executives of the institute for his relentless and outstanding support for the institute over the years.

This double-headed honour by the institute arrived at a time when Chief Aduku, a former minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is also currently serving as Chairman, North Central Peoples’ Forum (NCPF).

In a remark, Chief Aduku thanked the professional body for recognising his contribution to the institute and enjoined all the members not to compromise standards in the practice of the noble profession especially now that the country is faced with the challenges of poor infrastructural development.
