The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged both local and international investors to take advantage of the vast business opportunities within the FCT to promote sustainable growth and development.
Wike made the appeal on Wednesday during the opening ceremony of the 2025 Abuja Business and Investment Summit, held at the Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
Represented by the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the minister reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to positioning Abuja not only as Nigeria’s political capital but also as a model city for sustainable development across Africa.
According to him, Nigeria stands at a defining moment in its economic journey under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on inclusive growth, infrastructure renewal, and job creation.
“The theme of this year’s summit, ‘Empowering Sustainable Growth: Unlocking Potentials in Emerging Markets,’ reflects our shared vision of building an enabling environment where businesses can thrive and investments can yield lasting impact,” he said.
Wike emphasized that the FCT Administration is working to strengthen policies that support private sector participation, attract responsible investments, and ensure that growth within the capital city is inclusive and environmentally sustainable.
Earlier, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abuja Investments Company Limited (AICL), Maureen Tanuno, noted that the summit was in line with the principles of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She explained that the Expo aims to create new partnerships, encourage innovation, and open fresh opportunities for investors across key sectors such as real estate, agriculture, technology, and infrastructure.
