According to the statement, the Governor also directed that all land transactions, building plan approval, erection of building structures at the designated zone be suspended until further instructions to enable a speedy process of the project.

The aggrieved land owners on Saturday gathered in their hundreds, begging Allah to intervene for them against the revocation of their lands.

One of the land owners who pleaded anonymity said on Saturday that they were compelled to seek God’s intervention over the revocation. According to him, “Majority of us here are Muslims and we do not have anywhere to lodge our complaint except to our creator.

“Therefore, we gathered here to recite the Holy Quran, sacrifice an animal and pray to seek God’s intervention on the revocation of lands, and I am optimistic that God will come to our aid”. He said.
