Established by the Holcim Group, one of the world leading creative & sustainable building solutions, Lafarge Africa Plc provides Nigeria with a broad range of building and construction solutions to meet housing and construction needs, from small projects like individual home buildings to major construction and infrastructure projects.

Incorporated on 24th February, 1959 and listed as a publicly quoted company on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) on 17th February, 1979, Lafarge’s goal is for Nigeria to serve as the primary export hub and for West and Central Africa to become self-sufficient in cement and clinker.

The company is publicly traded on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). As a result, regional trade within ECOWAS and beyond with the African Continental Free Trade Area has significantly improved. With over 350 million people, 15 countries could be served by Nigeria.

Lafarge Africa Plc currently has an installed cement production capacity of 10.5MTPA and plans to expand in the near future with plants in Ewekoro and Sagamu in the South-West, Mfamosing in the South-South, and Ashaka in the North-East of Nigeria.

The Readymix division of Lafarge Africa in Nigeria creates superior and inventive concrete and aggregate solutions from a variety of locations, with plants currently situated in Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt and Ewekoro.

It started shipping clinker from Nigeria to West and Central Africa in 2020, following the commissioning of its Apapa and Onne export terminal.

Expectations From Lafarge Africa Plc At The AIHS 2022

Lafarge will be riding on the opportunities of the AIHS 2022 to update the African stakeholders in the housing industry on how far it has gone with its 3D printing housing introduced in 2021 at the AIHS. It will also use the privilege to avail members of the public of any pilot project it’s embarked on lately or perhaps, plans to embark on in Nigeria.

Beyond that, Lafarge will be showcasing its mortal and well established cement product that’s doing excellently well in the Nigerian market. Also at the event, It will be informing housing stakeholders about new products and innovations that the company is having and why its product remains the best.
