Oyo State Compensates Landowners for Air Force Base and Hospital Projects

The Oyo State Government has begun compensating landowners in Ajia Inukan Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Ona Ara Local Government Area, whose properties were acquired for the development of an Air Force Base, a General Hospital, and an ICT Centre.

During a meeting with the claimants, the Commissioner for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo, announced that the government has allocated N513,462,446.50 for compensation.

He highlighted that the compensation is a significant step towards building a positive relationship between the state government and the affected residents.

The state government conducted thorough identification and verification processes for the property owners along the project site, valuing their properties in preparation for the compensation payments.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Adedokun Olalekan, expressed his appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for his consideration and empathy toward the affected landowners.
