The Lagos State Government has sealed off a residential property located at 32 Ogunkoya Street, Ikosi-Ketu, following verified reports of unlawful waste disposal on the premises.

The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, announced the action via his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating that the state’s enforcement team acted swiftly in response to complaints raised by residents in the area.

According to the commissioner, officials inspected the site on Monday evening, confirmed the environmental infraction, and sealed the building immediately. He emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance stance on environmental violations, warning that such acts will be met with strict penalties.

“This is a clear message that Lagos will not tolerate any form of environmental sabotage,” Wahab stated.

He added that surveillance and enforcement operations are ongoing in communities across the state, assuring residents that efforts to protect public health and maintain environmental standards would remain consistent.

The government reiterated its commitment to keeping Lagos clean and safe, urging citizens to report environmental abuses to appropriate authorities for swift action.
