Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode (SAN), has urged the Federal Government to replicate the Medaville Federal Housing Estate Project in Akure across the federation.

He said this at the weekend during a visit to the Medaville Building and Construction Company Limited project site, situated opposite the state Police Headquarters, Igbatoro Road, Akure.

According to him, the execution of the ongoing housing project in Akure, the Ondo State capital, will address housing deficits in the country.

Kayode, who expressed satisfaction with the quality of materials being used for the execution of the project, described the estate project as timely.

Aside from providing housing units for the people, he added that the scheme would address shortage of affordable houses for the masses, adding that such investment, if well implemented, would reduce high cost of house rent and provide means of livelihood for artisans.

The former Minister, who is also the President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), lauded the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing for partnering with the developer to execute the project.

The Managing Director, Medaville Building and Construction Co. Ltd, Ademola Akin-Benson, had earlier conducted the former Minister round the estate, where some housing units had been completed with several others under construction.

He commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola as well as the management of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) for their commitment to solving challenges in the sector.

The estate developer expressed the readiness of the construction company to sustain good relationship between it and other stakeholders by executing FG’s housing projects awarded to it.
