Commercial flights will resume on Monday at the renovated Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, says Chris Okoye, who is the Chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum committee on the refurbishment of the airport.
Okoye disclosed this development to The PUNCH on Saturday, noting that the refurbished runway is the second in Nigeria after Abuja built with fiberglass.
Our correspondent gathered that the resumption of commercial flights at the airport was based on a Notice to Airmen issued by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency on Friday.
Based on the NOTAM, flight operations were approved from 7:00am to 7:00pm effective Monday, September 7, 2020.
