The City of Tallahassee’s plan to maintain and improve housing for low and moderate-income families is approaching its first public inquiry.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 10, the City will host public meetings in order to explore housing and community development needs. They also plan to address any barriers to fair housing.

In addition to the meetings, residents are invited to participate in two brief online surveys; one for fair housing and one for community needs. Both are available in English and Spanish.

Information from the surveys will be used in the City’s 2020-2025 Consolidated Plan and submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for federal grant funds. The meetings coincide with Florida’s Economic Development Week, held in the capitol.

The community meetings will take place as follows:
Monday, Feb. 10, at the Jack McLean Community Center, 700 Paul Russell Rd.
Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Orange Avenue Housing Complex, 2710 Country Club Dr.
Monday, Feb. 17, at the Smith-Williams Community Center, 2295 Pasco St.
Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Lincoln Center, 438 W. Brevard St.
All meetings will be held from 5-7 p.m.
