The president, who was ably represented by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Sulaiman Adamu said: “as we approach the conclusion of our stay in office, I’m also delighted to announce that we have entered a season of completion when many projects like this begin to yield fruit.”

“With the help of the Jigawa State Government, which donated the land, this area has come to life and will now house regular Nigerians.”

“The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Works and Housing, has delivered projects such as this with the support of the state governors who provided the lands,” said Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Raji Fashola, who was represented by State Commissioner for Works and Housing Alhaji Sambo Muazu Jaji.

“Over 1,200 contractors have been engaged under phases I, II, and III of the plan for the benefit of Nigerians on this initiative since its beginning in 2016, and over 14,500 and 50,140 direct and indirect jobs have been created,” Fashola said.

“During this period, the ministry is constructing nearly 6,000 housing units in 45 sites,” according to the minister, “of which 2,465 units have been finished in 35 states and the FCT.”
