A building on Oke Arin Street in Lagos State’s Onipanu neighbourhood fell early on Wednesday, according to a report.
The event happened near Oke Arin Street, off Shyllon Ilupeju, at around 1.07 in the morning.
This is coming barely two weeks after a church building under construction collapsed opposite Number 17, Cardoso Street, off Martins Street in Mushin.
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed the development on Wednesday morning.
“The Alpha Cobra team of Lagos State Emergency at Onipanu en route to Oke Arin street off shyllon Ilupeju,” Osanyintolu said.
The site is expected to be handed over to the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) and the Ministry of Physical Planning for further investigation.
Building collapses are common in Nigeria and construction experts blame this on a widespread disregard for regulations.
