Professor Ibrahim Gambari, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff (COS), has commissioned a multi-billion naira “state of the art” senate building built by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Gambari also commissioned NSUK’s new faculty of Engineering complex at Gudi campus just as he inaugurated the World Health Organization/uniklinikum Institute of molecular diagnostic and infectious disease control, Keffi centre. Executive Director of National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib, remodeled the centre.

In his address, Ibrahim Agboola Gambari lauded the management of the institution and TETFund for initiating and funding the projects, adding that the feat had the capacity and the spiral effect of stabilizing the university to focus on its core mandate of teaching, research and community development.

“The senate building is seen as a symbol and epicenter for both academic and administrative activities of the university” Gambari said adding that it is where critical and strategic policy decisions of the institution are deliberated upon .

He lauded Governor Abdullahi Sule for supporting the continuous development of NSUK.

“The strongest legacy any government can bestow on its citizens is that of quality education. I have also learnt of the effort being made by the current governor, which has cumulatively repositioning the university.

For his part, Governor Abdullahi Sule  lauded Sen. Abdullahi Adamu for the vision of creating the university, adding with more support, NSUK will in future be one of best tertiary institutions in the country.

The governor also appreciated Dr Faisal Shuaib for remodelling the WHO/uniklinikum Institute, adding that in improving research in the health sector, Nasarawa state government has also established the state infectious diseases diagnostic and research centre in Lafia inaugurated by the Vic president Vice Yemi Osinbajo.

In a remark, Executive Secretary of TETFund,Sunny Echono said the Fund had about 273 similar projects ready to be inaugurated in institutions across the country.

“We are working assiduously with various institutions to ensure that we complete additional 315 projects and commission them before the end of this administration,” he added
