The Zamfara State Government has shut down the Urban and Regional Planning Board.

The Government also directed its staff to report to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for redeployment.

The directive was contained in a statement issued by Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf, Permanent Secretary of the ministry, and made available to newsmen in Gusau.

Yusuf said that the directive was in compliance with resolution Number 31 of the state House of Assembly.

The resolution, according to Umar, recommended: “The Commissioner, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Muktar Ahmad Darma to deploy all professional and non professional staff under the Board  back to the Mother Ministry by Monday, 22nd August, 2022.”

It directed all the affected members of staff to report to the office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for onward redeployment.

“By this directive therefore, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development wishes to enjoin members of the general public to desist from any form of transactions relating to ZUREP until further directives are issued,” Umar said.
