The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Bola Tinubu-led administration to the development of Abuja’s satellite towns, emphasizing that the effort is a key priority of the current government.

Wike made the declaration during a weekend inspection tour of ongoing infrastructure projects, including the dualisation of the Ushafa–War College Check Point road in Bwari Area Council.

The Minister also visited the Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC), which is currently undergoing rehabilitation.

“The idea that development should be limited to the city centre is outdated,” Wike remarked. “We’re deliberately ensuring that satellite towns are not left behind. Just yesterday, we were in Gwagwalada and Kwali inspecting similar works.”

He highlighted other ongoing efforts such as the dualisation of the Kuje–Gwagwalada road, further underscoring the administration’s broader agenda of inclusive development across the FCT.,

“This government is showing in practical terms that it is committed to spreading infrastructure evenly. President Tinubu wants every part of the FCT to benefit from governance,” Wike added.

The Minister’s remarks come amid a broader push by the federal government to upgrade key road networks and public facilities across the territory’s area councils.
