To the most ardent built industry stalwarts, it comes with little surprise that Abuja International Housing Show has become a destination haven for international investors to Nigeria and some of the reasons are not so far fetched.
The Abuja International Housing Show has been on a winning streak, delivering first class events and showcase and will mark its 14th season this year billed for the 21st – 25th July, 2020. A run which is considered no small feat, in an industry where hosting high caliber events have experienced showing inconsistencies from majority of conveners as a result of diverse challenges. The show’s long standing presence in showcasing players, products and services within the Nigerian built industry terrain and across international markets, makes it a go to source for all things housing and construction by local players and international investors alike.
The fact that the Abuja International Housing Show has been discerning to maintain a consistent streak in its ability to convene the top grass across the political and government landscape including the current administration’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, the past Senate President, ministers and members of various facets of legislature to its events, as the Nigerian government accounts for over 60% of construction industry market share, as an opportunity for investors and players to create connections with the highest level of decision makers and policy influencers.
Another reason for the high tempo of attractiveness of the Abuja International Housing Show to international investors is that working in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Federal Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory as co-hosts has been deemed most important to its organisers since inception, ensuring greater leverage is achieved for Abuja municipality, the national housing market and for all partners. A move which is both economically and socially viable to prospective investors.
The Show, which has become the melting pot for all professional bodies within the housing sector, embraced as the most prolific industry event which allows multidisciplinary stakeholders meet under one roof to discuss diverse issues, not excluding fairer, more seamless interactions and collaborations across the built industry value chain.
The strategic positioning of the Abuja International Housing Show has drawn the biggest global agencies, multinationals, manufacturers, government agencies and housing corporations from around the world, Africa and locally. With organisations such as the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company, World Bank IFC, Julius Berger, Royal Engineering, CDK, Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria, Urban Shelter, Brains and Hammers and a host of others, strategically maintaining partnership with the brand on an annual basis, with new show partners signing up each year.
With a pivotal understanding to champion change and the adoption of innovative policies to bring about much needed transformation within the sector, the Abuja International Housing Show introduced the first ever CEO Forum and conferences which serves as a platform for the congregation of top CEOs and game changers from across world class organisations including the United Nations, World Bank, Africa Development Bank, OPIC America etc to share papers and rub minds with local leaders within a host of plenary sessions, realising resolutions which shape the future of the sector in Nigeria. These sessions have birth one of the sector’s foremost advocacy platform, Housing Development Advocacy Network, hosting most of the CEOs working together to drive healthy policy for lasting development.
The Abuja International Housing Show exhibitions have proven to be a good investment for its exhibitors with over 80% returning as a result of deals and partnerships garnered during the four day display. An outcome bolstered by the show’s hosting capacity within the elite International Conference Centre, offering full scale security while drawing an average of 15000 exhibitions attendees to its exhibitors showcase, offering massive exposure to both local and international participants.
Strong media alliances inclusive of the show’s co-owned collaterals such as the Housing Development TV on both local and international platforms exciting over 5 million viewership across AIT, TVC and NTA and Housing Program on Ray Power 100.5fm, and its online platform, Africahousingnews.com, combined with major newspapers and local electronic news stations make it a veritable option for the promotion of products or partnership opportunities for international investors.
International investors from the United States of America, Britain, China, Turkey, Canada, UAE, India, Italy etc continue to engage annually at AIHS events while prospective investors envisioning to make impact on the Nigerian built industry are sure to achieve objectives in beneficial ways.
