Vistry Partnerships is set to build nearly 200 homes on the North Prospect housing estate in Plymouth, kicking off the fourth and penultimate phase of the estate’s regeneration programme.
The former Galliford Try partnerships business, bought by Bovis last year, is building 196 homes with Plymouth Community Homes (PCH).
The housebuilder will deliver 87 homes for affordable rent, 38 for shared ownership and 71 for open market sale under the Linden Homes brand.
The North Prospect revamp is being delivered by Plymouth city council and PCH, and will eventually see nearly 1,100 new homes replace 750 run-down properties.
Regeneration work on the estate (pictured) began a decade ago and is due to be completed in 2024.
As well as funds from its own coffers and a Homes England grant PCH recently received £2.3m of government funding to support the development.
The council also pumped in £1.25m towards the scheme.
The origins of the North Prospect estate date back to 1920, when it was designed to house army officers returning from the First World War.
