Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has relieved the General Manager of the Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Innocent Ipkamezie of his appointment.

A statement issued at the weekend by his Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser, Oguwike Nwachuku, the governor named Francis Onyedikachi Chukwu, as the new Special Adviser and General Manager of the agency.

“Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has approved the appointment of Francis Onyedikachi Chukwu as the new Special Adviser/General Manager of the OCDA,” the statement reads.

The statement directed Ipkamezie to handover to Chukwu, whose appointment takes immediate effect.

Uzodimma, who charged the new appointee to sanitise the agency to restore the people’s confidence, also admonished the new Special Adviser and General Manager of OCDA to devote his energy and time to restoring the confidence of Imo people in its activities.

ALSO, Uzodimma, has expressed worry over the alleged land grabbing activities perpetrated by some persons in the state.

In a statement issued at the weekend by the Secretary to the State Government, (SSG), Cosmas Iwu, the stage government warned those engaged in such activities to desist or be ready to face the consequences.

The governor, who maintained that he had neither approved allocation of land, nor issued Certificates of Occupancy (C of Os) to any individual since he assumed office on January 15, 2020, wondered why the illegal activity had continued to thrive.

He advised members of the public to be guided accordingly, insisting that all lands revoked recently in line with the White Paper on Lands Recovery and Related Matters in the state were still prohibited from being allocated.

MEANWHILE, the governor also approved the establishment of the Imo State Physical Properties Register and appointed an eight-man committee to pilot its affairs.

A statement issued yesterday by Nwachuku revealed that the governor named Raymond Ucheoma; Mrs. Leticia Okere; T.U.C. Nwokonkwo and Chinyere Ibe as members.

Others are Okechukwu Dike; Mrs. Ogechi Ihekweazu; Mrs. Ngozi Eririogu, while and Isaac Oguzie will serve as Secretary of the committee to be inaugurated today at the Sam Mbakwe Executive Council Chambers by 12:00 noon.
