Aimed at parish councils, community groups and individuals, the Yorkshire Dales Millennium, Trust (YDMT) is organising a visit to Grassington, where 22 affordable homes have been built, and also to Hudswell, near Richmond, where three homes have gone up.
The ‘study’ visit, due to take place on Wednesday, February 12, is part of the charity’s Dales Community Housing Project, which provides free support, advice and guidance to groups wanting to develop their own proposals.

Rima Berry, project manager, said: “The visits will enable participants to learn from the experiences of others already involved in community-led housing projects. They’ll have the chance to meet like-minded people, share ideas, learn more about best practice, consultation and working in partnership, and how to raise funds and arrange finance. We hope they will inspire and give people the knowledge to discuss and develop affordable housing proposals with residents of their own communities.”
