The Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Idris Salako, has said the delivery of right-of-way for projects in Lagos State was to pave the way for the socioeconomic development of the state.

He said this at a stakeholders’ meeting in Alausa over the rehabilitation of Babs Animashaun road, Surulere.

A statement by the ministry through the Director Technical Services, Bola Aliu, said the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development was mandated by law with the responsibility of the delivery of right-of-way for public projects in Lagos.

He said, “The delivery of right-of-way for public projects is a pro-development endeavour with the ultimate relief of ease of connectivity and socioeconomic development that are bound to sprout as a result of the road construction.”

Speaking on the regular engagement of stakeholders, the commissioner said it was an indication of the commitment of the current administration to citizens’ participation in the development of their communities.
