The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), in a powerful show of faith-driven corporate responsibility, officially handed over a purpose-built office facility to the Ogun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), further strengthening its commitment to community development and public safety.
Located within the RCCG’s renowned Redemption Camp in Mowe, the donated building is strategically positioned to enhance administrative efficiency and foster effective traffic safety management along the busy Lagos–Ibadan corridor .
During the formal unveiling, Pastor Sunday Akande, National Overseer representing General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye, emphasized the church’s commitment to supporting the FRSC’s vital role in maintaining road safety.
He remarked that the donation was both an expression of appreciation and a testament to RCCG’s dedication to community welfare. According to Pastor Akande, “it is part of our CSR programme to show that we appreciate what they are doing and we are giving back to them,” highlighting the symbolic and practical importance of the gesture.
FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer Anne Odeleye warmly received the gift, praising the enhanced coordination and morale the new facility would bring. She explained that “when you are coordinated from home, you will be able to attend to your job and issues” and stressed how such infrastructure directly translates into faster response times and improved traffic management.
Notably, she shared that fatality rates along the corridor have already dropped by 10% this year a trend she attributes in part to strengthened operational capacity.
Adding a local perspective, FRSC Mowe Unit Commander John Jachi recalled the operational challenges faced prior to the donation and expressed confidence that the new building would dramatically improve everyday activities. He took a moment to remind motorists of their responsibilities: “Obey traffic rules and shun dangerous driving that could cause road crashes.”
Together, RCCG and the FRSC are illustrating the potential of collaborative engagement. RCCG’s investment goes beyond physical infrastructure it represents a strategic partnership aimed at saving lives and reinforcing the role of public institutions. Situated within a landmark that spans over 2,500 hectares and serves as the church’s international hub, the new building serves as both a functional asset and a symbol of faith-based investment in public good.
As the Lagos–Ibadan highway continues to see growing vehicular activity, RCCG’s donation sets a valuable precedent. RCCG leadership urged other organizations—businesses, faith institutions, civil society to emulate this gesture. As Pastor Akande and Commander Odeleye affirmed, supporting FRSC operations isn’t merely charity it’s a shared responsibility in the mission to protect lives, preserve dignity, and build safer communities.
