President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in two new commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and two members of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) board. The brief ceremony took place at the State House in Abuja before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
The new INEC commissioners are Mallam Tukur Abdulrazaq Yusuf, representing the North West, and Professor Sunday Nwambam Aja, representing Ebonyi State in the South East. The newly appointed CCB board members are Ikpeme Kenneth Ndem from Cross River State and retired Justice Buba Ibrahim Nyaure from Taraba State.
Following the swearing-in, President Tinubu presided over the ongoing FEC meeting, which was attended by key administration officials, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume; Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; and National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Also present were the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu; and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.
The appointments are part of President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to strengthen key institutions and ensure effective governance in the country.
