The Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, has ordered the state the state Ministry of Works to carry out integrity test on houses suspected to be weak in all parts of the state to prevent building collapse.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Adeniyi Adesina said the Governor gave the directive at the weekend given the incidents of collapse buildings in Lagos and Ibadan recently.

He said the directive on integrity test will be carried out immediately because the state does not want the collapse of any building.

He said all the relevant agencies and facilities in the state would be mobilized to carry out the assignment.

“Members of the public are enjoined to report to the authorities any observation they have on any building that is believed to be weak so that immediate action will be taken,” he is quoted as saying.

“The governor has also directed the Ministry of the Environment to ensure that drains are cleared, to prevent flooding.”
