The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has generously provided a three-acre plot of land to the International Council for Ifa Religion (ICIR) to facilitate the creation of a grand World Ifa Temple.

This initiative aims to strengthen the promotion of Yoruba traditional beliefs and establish a significant pilgrimage destination for followers of Ifa worldwide.

According to a statement by ICIR President Fayemi Fakayode, made in Ibadan, Oyo State, this donation reflects the Ooni’s deep dedication to preserving Yoruba culture, spirituality, and heritage. Fakayode expressed gratitude on behalf of the Council of Araba and Oluwo, led by His Eminence Awodotun Aworeni, the Araba/Olu-Isese Agbaye, and practitioners of Ifa and Orisa globally.

“This act highlights the Ooni’s strong commitment to maintaining the traditions of Oduduwa’s spiritual legacy,” Fakayode noted. “The upcoming World Ifa Temple will be the largest of its kind internationally and is set to become a pivotal pilgrimage center for devotees of Oduduwa’s spiritual path.”

The donated land is situated near the Stadium Area on Route 7 in Ile-Ife, Osun State, where construction has already begun. ICIR, headquartered in Oke-Itase, Ile Ife, had previously sought this land to realize their vision of building what they describe as the world’s largest World Ifa Temple.

This project is seen as a milestone in celebrating and preserving Yoruba spiritual culture, reinforcing Ile-Ife’s position as a spiritual heartland for traditional worshippers around the globe.
