Director General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, has disclosed the scheme’s intention to remit about N511 million to the federation’s account for the 2021fiscal year.

Ibrahim who disclosed this yesterday in Abuja during a press briefing to announce the activities of the 2021 Batch C Stream 2 orientation programme,  said the scheme remitted 280 million naira to the federation account last year.

He said the remittance was a contribution to the economy of the nation.

Ibrahim noted that the scheme rejigged the garment factory where corps members are trained to sew and produce garments. He added that bakery and table water factory was also rejigged and produces products for the scheme and commercial purposes.

On the resumption for the Batch C Stream 2 camp activities, Ibrahim warned that no fake graduate should show up at the orientation camps as they must be figured out and punished.

He also warned that no graduate and prospective corps members should present a fake certificate in camp as it was an offence against the law.

He advised corps members travelling to their camps to ensure that they do not travel at night to avoid accidents or criminal attack.  He assured that the scheme was working with security agencies to ensure  their safety.

Daily Trust recalls  that the state government had earlier restricted the movements of all motorcycles from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am and the restriction order is still in force.
