The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) is set to honour Nigeria’s topmost affordable housing advocate, Mr Festus Adebayo as a honourary member of the professional institute.
According to a letter signed by the National Secretary of NITP, TPl Ukanwa Ugoh, FNITP, the award of honourary membership on Mr Adebayo is recognition of his overwhelming contributions to and special interest in the advancement of Town Planning in Nigeria.
Mr Adebayo who is the Executive Director of Africa’s pioneer affordable housing advocacy group, Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) was also praised for the visibility he has given the NITP and the housing and construction industry as a whole through various forums.

It was noted that Mr Adebayo being the owner of the Housing Development Programme on AIT and TVC has continued to champion the course for housing development in Nigeria, helping thousand of Nigerians achieve their goal of owning a home.
TPl Ugoh stated, “The singular privilege, through your organization has particularly projected the image of the NITP. You have also promoted the course of Urban Planning and best Practices in the Housing sector for the masses of Nigeria and the global community through the Abuja International Housing Show (AIHS) now Africa International Housing Show which is the brainchild of your organization.”
“Consequently, the Nigeria Institute of Town Planners appreciates this initiative and is determined to inscribe this rare contribution to you in the annals of the Institute’s history by giving you this award,” the NITP National Secretary added.
