NITP Elects New President, Other Principal Officers

NITP Elects New President, Other Principal Officers

The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), has elected new principal officers to run its affairs for the next one year, with TPL. Nathaniel Atebije, the erstwhile first National Vice President, emerging as the President and Chairman of Council. Atebije takes over from TPL. Olutoyin Ayinde, the immediate past President of the Institute.

The election was held during the annual general meeting of the Institute held Tuesday 11th November, 2022 at the M&M Event Centre Abuja.

Also elected into the National Executive Committee positions of the Institute were TPL.  Ogbonna Chime as first National Vice President; TPL. Prof. Kingsley Ogboi as second National Vice President; TPL. Ashiru Olugbenga as National Secretary; TPL. Dr. Mohammed Zayyanu as first Assistant National Secretary, TPL. Edmund Nwokaeze as second Assistant National Secretary; TPL. Zachariah Alonge as National Financial Secretary; TPL. Agomuo Emeka as National Treasurer; TPL. Sani Adamu as National Auditor; and TPL. Dr. David  Olawale as National Public Relations Secretary.

Others were TPL.  Dr. Jesse Nor as Assistant National Public Relations Secretary; TPL.  Ayodele Adejumo as Chairman Practice Committee; TPL. Dr. Olanrewaju Samson as Chairman Publications Committee; TPL. Sani Daniel as Chairman Membership Committee; TPL. Dr. Adams Baba as Chairman Education and Research Committee; TPL. Banabas Atiyaye as Chairman Ethics and Displinary Committee; TPL. Olutoyin Ayinde as Immediate Past National President; TPL. Austin Ukanwa as Immediate Past National Secretary; and TPL. Adeoye Opeyemi as an Ex-Officio IV.

The new president and Chairman of Council of the Institute is a registered planner with vast experience working in the public sector which has distinguished him.

His pedigree as a thoroughbred, seasoned and tested professional is not in doubt as he has distinguished himself creditably in every assignment he has been saddled with over the years.

According to a statement signed by the National Public Relations Secretary of the Institute, TPL. Dr.  David Olawale, the investiture of the new President and Chairman of Council which will be witnessed by members of the Institute, representatives of other professional bodies, government and corporate bodies at a later date which will be communicated soon.
