A United States-based Nigerian, Dr. Henry Balogun, has spearheaded an online platform to reduce unemployment in Nigeria, by seeking placements globally, for jobless Nigerian graduates.

Balogun, an Ikere, Ekiti State-born philanthropist who has lived in the US for over 40 years, said he was offering the services at no cost.

According to him, the effort comes up on his online platform, www.primehangout.com, which assists graduates, especially those from Nigeria who are in need of a job, to secure employment.

He said this year alone, PrimeHangout targeted over 20 million Nigerians for employment connections.

“All we do is to collect your biodata and connect you with employers in need of your services,” he enthused.

Besides, he also stated that amid the debilitating effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global education system, the PrimeHangout had mobilised personal resources and floated an online lecture series to cover all categories of students.

Balogun, who is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the outfit, said online classrooms had been set aside to pay special attention to the needs of African students, many who are lagging, owing to the social distancing protocol caused by Coronavirus.

He said, “This is a technology developed to assist students of all ages in their quest for academic excellence and to lend a helping hand to every institution of learning all over the world.

“The need for the prompt take-off of this idea cannot be delayed, given the sad realities of the damage done to the global educational system by Coronavirus; with Africa being at the receiving end,” he said.
