Nigerian-born economist and international development expert who sits on the Boards of Standard Chartered Bank, Twitter, Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), and the African Risk Capacity (ARC), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is 67 today.
Delta born Okonjo-Iweala who has spent a 25-year career at the World Bank as a development economist, scaling the ranks to the Number 2 position of Managing Director, Operations also served two terms as Finance Minister of Nigeria under the leadership of President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Goodluck Jonathan respectively.
The Director General of the WTO has received numerous recognition and awards ranging from Finance Minister of the Year for Africa and the Middle East in 2005 to Forbes African of the year in 2020.
