New affordable housing will soon be built in downtown Stockton, the mayor’s office said Tuesday.
A nonprofit Stockton developer, Visionary Home Builders of California, was selected for the project on East Miner Avenue. It will have 100 units with one, two and three
The property is owned by the state and is part of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s plan to build affordable housing on excess state-owned land.
Stockton Mayor Michael Tubbs called the project “a blueprint demonstrating how state and local officials can come together, in record time, to support affordable housing.
“Within three short months, we identified surplus state land and through a competitive process, approved Visionary Home Builders of California to lead this project,” he said.
The project, called La Passeggiata, will be built using modular units, which the mayor said are less expensive to build than traditional designs. Each unit will be available with energy-efficient electric appliances and smart home artificial intelligence technology, according to the city. The buildings will also include rooftop gardens and solar systems.
A new affordable housing project is also being planned on state-owned property in South Lake Tahoe. The project will include 100 new units and will be built at Lake Tahoe Boulevard and Tata Lane. The state has begun the process of finding a developer for that project.

An impressive share, I simply given this onto a colleague who was doing somewhat analysis on this. And he in fact purchased me breakfast because I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! However yeah Thnkx for spending the time to debate this, I feel strongly about it and love studying extra on this topic. If attainable, as you develop into expertise, would you mind updating your weblog with more details? It’s extremely helpful for me. Big thumb up for this weblog submit!
