In a major step toward improving student welfare and infrastructure in Nasarawa State, a partnership has been formalized between Advent Integrated Services Limited, the state government, the Nasarawa Investment and Development Agency (NASIDA), and Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).

The agreement paves the way for the development of a 4,000-bed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) facility on the university’s campus.

The initiative, structured as a 25-year Public-Private Partnership (PPP), is designed to address the acute student housing deficit and modernize campus living conditions. The project will be delivered in phases, with the first phase comprising 1,152 bed spaces and subsequent stages scaling up to the full 4,000 capacity.

Designed with student safety, comfort, and academic success in mind, the development will feature contemporary amenities and facilities to foster a conducive learning environment.

At the official signing ceremony, Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, who also serves as the Visitor to the University, reiterated his administration’s dedication to advancing education through practical investments. “This student hostel project reflects our unwavering commitment to secure and improve living standards for students within the university,” the Governor said. “We are pleased to collaborate with Advent Integrated Services and will continue to create an environment that supports growth and innovation.”

The Vice-Chancellor of NSUK, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan, applauded the state leadership for prioritizing education infrastructure, describing the accommodation project as a landmark development for the university. She also cited earlier achievements, such as the completion of a 4.5-kilometre road network and a new Senate Building, as examples of consistent progress under the current administration. “This project will significantly enhance the academic atmosphere and elevate NSUK’s standing among Nigeria’s top-tier institutions,” she noted.

On behalf of Advent Integrated Services, Managing Director Mr. Goke Dokun expressed appreciation to the state government and university management for the opportunity to be part of the transformative initiative. He emphasized that the project is not only about physical infrastructure but also about long-term social and economic impact.

“This partnership reflects our broader mission—to empower students, contribute to local development, and support sustainable urban growth,” said Dokun. “With this new addition, our company’s portfolio of purpose-built student accommodations now includes a total of 7,246 bed spaces, placing Advent at the forefront of student housing solutions in Nigeria.”

The project is expected to boost local employment during construction and provide long-term benefits to the university community and the wider Nasarawa economy.
