A wave of Iranian missiles struck cities across Israel early Monday, causing minor damage to the U.S. Embassy branch in Tel Aviv. Fortunately, no U.S. personnel were harmed, U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) .
Photographs from AFP show severe destruction in parts of Tel Aviv, though the embassy compound itself was not directly hit. “Some minor damage from concussions of Iranian missile hits near Embassy Branch in TelAviv but no injuries to U.S. personnel,” Huckabee added. As a precaution, the embassy’s shelter-in-place order remains active, and the Jerusalem consulate will stay closed today.
The missile launches come in direct response to recent Israeli airstrikes targeting military and suspected nuclear facilities deep inside Iran. Iran reportedly fired dozens of ballistic missiles toward multiple Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, resulting in at least eight fatalities and scores of injuries.
Israel’s defense systems intercepted many of the incoming missiles, though several reached their targets, causing significant infrastructure damage. Iranian strikes struck civilian structures and military installations alike, including parts of Israel’s military headquarters .
U.S. President, Donald Trump has cautioned that any Iranian attack on U.S. personnel would prompt an overwhelming military response, and the U.S. has moved an aircraft carrier to the region as a show of support.
With both nations signaling readiness for further escalation, regional leaders and international organizations are warning of a potentially broader conflict that could destabilize the Middle East.
