Many Die in Akure Building Collapse

Many Die in Akure Building Collapse

A one-storey building has collapsed in Araromi street Akure the state capital.

Though no life was lost, many properties were destroyed as a part of the building serving as residential apartment and a shop.

The building is one of many old structures around  Araromi street which residents described as dangerous building around the area.

Speaking with Orange FM ,residents of the area, said one of the windows in the building caved in which signals the collapse and people in the building rushed out before the collapse.

Residents blamed the collapse on lack of good drainage system which in turn caused flooding in the area.

They appealed to government to help them construct the drainage system in the area to prevent future  occurence

They also sought government’s support for those who lost goods and properties in the incident.
