April 2010, Oshodi, Lagos – four dead
On the 28th of April 2010, a two-storey market plaza in Oshodi , Lagos, collapsed, killing at least four persons and leaving many others wounded.
August 2010 – Abuja – 13 dead
A building collapsed on Ikole Street, Abuja on August 11, 2010, killing no fewer than 13 occupants.
September 2014 – Synagogue Church Of All Nations, Lagos – 115 dead
On 12 September 2014, a guesthouse located within the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) premises around the Ikotun-Egbe area of Lagos State collapsed completely to the ground, killing 115 people.
March, 2016 – Lekki Gardens, Lagos – several people killed
On March 8, 2016, a six-storey building owned by a real estate firm Lekki Gardens collapsed, killing several people. Lekki Gardens Estate reported that five people died in the incident as against the official figure of 34 casualties.
March 2016: Lagos Island, Lagos – 24 injured
On March 22, the top nine stories of the 21-story Nigerian Industrial Development Bank building in Nigeria collapsed. This happened after a fire gutted two stories in the building earlier that month. Heavy winds during a thunderstorm caused the building to cave in from the structural weakness after the fire. About 24 persons were injured.
July 2016 – Ebute-Meta, Lagos – 25 dead
A four-storey residential block of flats collapsed on July 18, 2006 at Ebute-Meta, Lagos killing 25 people.
November 2016 – Lagos – two dead
In November an unfinished, three-story building still under construction collapsed on Lagos Island, killing two construction workers.
2019: Ita Faaji, Lagos – 20 dead
On 13 March 2019, a three-storey building in the Ita Faaji area of Lagos, suffered a structural failure, killing 20 people and leaving over 40 trapped.
