Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has approved the appointment of eight new Permanent Secretaries and directed the redeployment of four others in a move aimed at improving the efficiency of the state’s civil service structure.

The announcement was made through a statement from the Head of Service, Muhammad Dagaceri, and released to reporters in Dutse by the Public Relations Officer of the Head of Civil Service’s Office, Ismaila Dutse.

According to the statement, the reassignments were designed to optimise administrative performance across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.

Among the reassignments, Sagir Muhammad Sani moves from the Ministry of Basic Education to Budget and Economic Planning, while Muhammad Yusha’u switches from Budget and Economic Planning to the Ministry for Local Government.

In a similar shake-up, Lawan Muhammad Haruna has been reassigned from the Ministry of Higher Education to the Local Government Service Commission. Meanwhile, Engineer Musa Alhassan Arobade leaves the Ministry of Power and Energy to take up a new post at the Directorate of Manpower Development and Training, under the Head of Civil Service.

The eight newly appointed Permanent Secretaries include Garba D. Muhammad, who now heads the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, and Fatima Aliyu Hadejia, posted to the Directorate of Salary and Pension within the Office of the Head of Civil Service.

Others are Baffa Abubakar (Ministry of Basic Education), Bello Datti (Directorate of Special Services/Council Affairs), Ibrahim Hassan (Ministry of Finance), Nasiru Haruna (Ministry of Power and Energy), Umar Isah (Civil Service Commission), and Mahmud Isah Ringim (Ministry of Commerce and Industries).

Dagaceri, in the statement, urged all affected officials to approach their new assignments with professionalism and a sense of purpose, stressing the importance of service delivery and commitment to duty.

He further stated that the appointments and postings are effective immediately and directed all officers concerned to assume their new roles without delay.
