Here are links to help affordable housing providers plan for the health threat.
As the novel coronavirus has now infected at least 1,000 people in the United States, housing leaders have been distributing key information in an effort to protect their residents as well as their employees.

The National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) and its Disaster Housing Recovery Coalition (DHRC) of over 850 organizations are working to ensure that urgent needs of the most vulnerable Americans are provided for as federal recovery or stimulus bills move through Congress.

DHCR will share local, state, and federal updates as well as to plan for advocacy on a national webinar on coronavirus and housing/homelessness on March 16.

In addition, the NLIHC has canceled its Housing Policy Forum and Capitol Hill Day, March 25 to 27, and postponed its Housing Leadership Awards Reception due to the spread of the coronavirus.

The National Housing Conference on March 19 will host its March Restoring Neighborhoods webinar, which will feature experts from epidemiology and public health on the coronavirus outbreak discussing how to prevent spreading the disease, and appropriate precautions and contingency planning for property managers.

In addition to the webinars, here are several helpful links for the affordable housing industry:

1. The Department of Housing and Urban Development has released information for continuum of care agencies.

2. CSH has shared information about what supportive housing providers need to know.

3. The Center for Disease Control has coronavirus updates.

4. The National Health Care for the Homeless Council offers information on its coronavirus webpage.

5. The National Alliance to End Homelessness also has webpage on coronavirus.

6. Institute of Real Estate Management has prepared a Pandemic Guide for real estate managers.
