Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has disclosed his administration’s readiness to create Home Owners Charter of Ondo State (HOCOS) to allow landlords have appropriate titles for their landed property.

Governor Akeredolu made the disclosure while playing host to the Registrar of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, NIS, Surveyor Mohammed Kabir, at the Governor’s Office, Akure, on Wednesday.

The Governor, who described Surveyors as credible partners in the Housing Sector, said HOCOS will be a policy that will enable all critical stakeholders operate with comfort in view of the validity of documentations that will be generated through the new policy.

Arakunrin Akeredolu added that his administration will continue to patronise professional surveyors in both private and public sectors and encourage them to take active part in the development of the state.

Earlier, the Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Ondo State Branch, Surveyor Funmilola Fakorede, lauded the Governor on what she called the unprecedented infrastructural delivery across the state and employment of surveyors into the state Public Service.

“As a matter of fact, your infrastructure policy was not limited to towns only but spread to rural areas. Surveyors in Ondo State are indeed grateful for your giant strides in this and other areas of your administration.

“Employment of some of us into the service of Ondo State was made possible, your magnanimity to employ surveying graduates will no doubt go a long way to solve shortage of manpower in the department,” she added.

The Registrar of Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON), Surveyor Mohammed Kabir, commended the good governance posture of the Arakunrin Akeredolu administration which he said has translated to massive infrastructural development in the state.

While saying that the association was determined to work with the government at providing appropriate framework for a better Ondo State, Surveyor Kabir appealed to the governor to continue to encourage surveyors through patronage.
