Former Minister Leaves Board of UACN Property

After serving on the board of UACN Property Development Company Plc for over nine years, Mrs Halima Alao, a former Minister of Environment, Housing and Urban Development, has called it quit with the company.

Mrs Alao, an Architect of high reputation in Nigeria, tendered her resignation to the board, which has been accepted. She joined the board on January 13, 2010 as a non-executive director.

During her nearly a decade as a director of the firm, she served in different capacities including being a member of the Statutory Audit Committee, the Risk Management Committee and the Remuneration and Governance Committee.

In a statement signed by the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Mrs Folake Kalaro, Mrs Alao was thanked by the board for her immense contribution to the growth of the company.

“UACN Property Development Company Plc wishes to announce the resignation of Mrs Halima Alao from the company’s board of directors.

“Mrs Alao was appointed to the board on January 13, 2010 as a non-executive director and served in this capacity for close to a decade. She was a member of the Statutory Audit Committee, the Risk Management Committee and the Remuneration and Governance Committee.

“The board accepted the resignation and expressed its deep appreciation to Mrs Alao for her valuable contributions over the years,” the statement said.

Mrs Alao graduated with B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. (Architecture) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She also holds a Master Degree in Public Administration from the University of Ilorin. She is an alumnus of the Advanced Management and Leadership Programme of Oxford University Business School and also a member of the Nigeria Institute of Architects.

Mrs Alao served the nation variously as Sole Administrator/Chairman, Ilorin South Local Government, Permanent Secretary, Kwara State Ministry of Land & Housing, Permanent Secretary, Kwara State Ministry of Works and Transport, Executive Secretary, Kwara State Commission for Women, Minister of State for Education, Minister of State for Health, and Minister of Environment, Housing and Urban Development.
